SERVICE CREDIT TERMS

These Service Credit Terms (“Service Credit Terms”) are an agreement between you and Brave Software, Inc., and govern your purchase, receipt, and use of any credit redeemable for use of Services (“Service Credits”). These Service Credit Terms are incorporated by reference into the agreement between you and us governing your use of the Brave Search API or other services that we provide (“Agreement”). Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Agreement. Additional terms may apply to specific Services.

  1. Types of Service Credits.

    1. Prepaid Service Credits. Brave may offer the option to prepay for use of the Brave Search API or other services that we provide (“Services”) through the purchase of Service Credits (“Prepaid Service Credits”), which represent amounts paid in advance for use of the applicable Services.

    2. Promotional Service Credits. Brave may offer free Service Credits as part of promotions or onboarding (“Promotional Service Credits”).

  2. Service Credits Terms.

    1. Your Service Credits balance may be reviewed in your account. You are responsible for verifying the proper addition and deduction of Service Credits. Your Service Credits balance is not a bank account, digital wallet, stored value account, or other payment device. We will debit your Service Credits balance based on your use of Services at the then-current usage rates published for the applicable Services or as otherwise set forth in the Agreement.

    2. We may offer an optional automatic reload service for Prepaid Service Credits. If activated, you authorize us to charge the designated payment method on a recurring basis for the applicable fees and taxes when your Prepaid Service Credit balance drops to a threshold you set, until you opt out of the reload service.

    3. Service Credits may be redeemed only for use of applicable Services. Purchases of Prepaid Service Credits are non-refundable.

    4. Service Credits are not redeemable, refundable, or exchangeable for any sum of money or monetary value. Service Credits are not legal tender or currency; are not redeemable, refundable, or exchangeable for any sum of money or monetary value (except where required by law); have no equivalent value in and are not a substitute for fiat currency; and do not constitute or confer any personal property right.

    5. Service Credits may not be transferred, sold, gifted, traded, or assigned. Any attempt to do so is void and may result in revocation or cancellation of the Service Credits, or suspension or termination of your access to the Services and your account with us.

    6. Service Credits expire upon the earlier of one year from the date of issuance or the date that you close your account with us.

    7. Promotional Service Credits will not be applied against any sales, use, gross receipts, or similar excise or transaction-based taxes that may be applicable to you.

  3. Suspension and Termination. We may suspend or terminate your use of the Services or your Service Credits balance in accordance with the Agreement for violations of these Service Credit Terms or applicable law.

  4. Modifications. We may amend or modify these Service Credit Terms by posting a revised version on the Website or by emailing the email associated with your account.
